I think we inherently know how we want to be loved. With that you would only need to know what you have already seen in movies about the mechanical part of making love to write it.
I write a blog about how men can better love the women of their dreams. I would really appreciate it if you all would take a look.

One thing left out of the question is a definition of “hot.” If it has to do with what the press likes to term “graphic,” there might be a problem if said virgin has never been exposed to literature, cinema, or porn. Otherwise, I have no doubt that either sex (as Ken said above) can well imagine what pleases the author. The writer can never be sure what will turn on a reader.
Thanks for stopping by! Believe it or not, this discussion went down a lot of avenues. It’s great to hear all the varying points of view. Thank goodness we were all good friends because the debate was heated!
It depends largely on the scene itself (as well as the writer’s talent and imagination, of course). It does also depend on your definition of “hot”. A virgin who has watched porn twenty four hours a day for a week will likely know nothing about what makes a written scene EROTIC (or even real sex good), which would be part of MY definition of hot.
If the scene talks about the woman’s feelings and the sensations she experiences then it’s unlikely to be convincing even if the author is well read and has talked in graphic detail to those who are experienced. Experiencing, experimenting for yourself and learning about sex and sensuality with the right sexual partner is probably the only way to truly have any serious understanding of the sensations and shear ecstatic joy that are possible and can (should?) come with good sex.
